For several years the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute has been delighted to host IMF's leading experts to present their most recent regional economic outlook reports at a CACI Forum. This year, in addition to our regular discussions of the IMF’s most recent report, there will also be a country focus on Armenia. Mr. Juha Kähkönen, Deputy Director in the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department, will present the IMF’s views on recent economic developments and outlook for the Caucasus and Central Asia region, where economic activity has been expanding rapidly but challenges loom in the medium term. Mr. Mark Horton, IMF's Mission Chief for Armenia, will also provide a focus on developments and challenges in Armenia, where the IMF has recently concluded a three-year arrangement. They will be joined by Mr. Thomas de Waal, a Caucasus expert and author of Black Garden: Armenia and Azerbaijan Through Peace and War, Revised and Updated, 2013.
